The Book - 'Keeping Fit for Golf'

The book provides comprehensive advice about how to keep fit for golf. Ten chapters deal with subject areas such as: warming-up, cardio-vascular, endurance, strength and flexibility training, nutrition, back care as well as a chapter describing how the muscles work during each of the main swing phases. Every exercise is clearly illustrated and some of the chapter headed pages feature famous golfers such as Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, Colin Montgomerie and David Howell.

The book is dedicated to Jessie Valentine MBE, in her era of 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s one of the worlds best lady golfers.

The DVD

A 50 minute long production featuring David Howell (2004 European Ryder Cup player) shows five areas of fitness that can help you to play better golf. It is available in DVD format. Instruction is given on the benefits of cardio-vascular exercise; how to warm-up before playing or practising; how to use the resistant Theraband tubing for strength training; and stretching exercises to improve your flexibility. The last section shows abdominal and back exercises to help you improve and maintain good golf posture and prevent injury to the spine.

Resistance Tubing

Two rubber tubes each 6 feet long and of different degrees of resistance, can be purchased with the book or DVD, or as part of the Golf Fit Kit.

The blue tube provides a lighter resistance than the black tube. You can work with them together or double up each tube to increase the resistance. This enables you to progressively improve your muscular endurance and strength. They are ideal for all age groups, as well as both male and female golfers.
